James Clark

James’ tax expertise and enthusiasm for all things tax has been instrumental in the success of the Tax Consultancy service at WR Partners.

James joined WR Partners in 2004 and has gained membership to both the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) whilst at the firm. He also has a first-class honours degree in Applied Accounting.

A Chartered Tax Advisor and a member of the firm's specialist Tax Consultancy Team; James advises on a wide range of taxation matters, including business restructures and corporate reorganisations, inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning; and share valuation and share incentive schemes.  James also advises on Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT), where he is a member of the specialist Stamp Taxes Practitioners Group (STPG) – the leading professional body of stamp taxes advisors in the UK.

Based in Shrewsbury, James leads the Tax advisory team.

Promoted to Partner in 2023, James has delivered many significant and complex tax projects, supporting clients across a variety of sectors due to his breadth of tax knowledge. James’s expertise has allowed WRP to provide the tax advisory work our large clients need and demand.

James has been a driver behind our “Go2Advisory” network, and, with strong relationships with many key corporate and property lawyers, has been instrumental in building our SDLT offering.
